In 2020, Pentecost begins at sunset on Thursday, May 28 and ends at sundown on Saturday, May 30 according to the Biblical calendar. In Hebrew, Pentecost is “Shavuot,” which literally means “weeks.” Shavuot occurs 50 days after the Passover Sabbath. It is the final day of the countdown, the filling up of the measure of the perfect grain – the perfect harvest.
At Shavuot, God’s people celebrate the giving of the Word of God on Mount Sinai and the giving of the tongues of fire of the Holy Spirit in Jerusalem. Now in 2020, a new dimension of Shavuot is being made manifest.
Shavuot is the very day that the Ten Commandments (written by the finger of God) were given to Moses. Exodus 19:1 speaks of the Jews arriving at Mount Sinai on the third day of the third month. They prepared to meet God three day later. On the sixth of Sivan, God appeared on the mountain with thunder, lightning, a thick cloud and fire on the mountain of stone (Exodus 19:16). As the smoke ascended, there was the sound of a blast furnace (Exodus 19:18). The sound of the trumping shofar grew louder and louder, as God’s people were struck with the holy, reverential fear of the Lord while they transcended their physical limitations seeing the thunder.
On this day, Moses was seen as the “friend of the bride” who carried God’s people to their Betrothed – the Most High God Himself. So, this day is known as “The Betrothal” when God chose a Bride (Jeremiah 2:2). However, God did not come and take His Bride to be married at that time. In this Kingdom Day, it’s time!
Then, we have another Pentecost picture in Acts 2 where thousands came up to Jerusalem for Shavuot. Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ) sent the Holy Spirit in the form of tongues of fire to devout believers who tarried there. There was a sound of a mighty rushing wind that accompanied the endowment of the tongues of fire (Acts 2:2), just like the blast furnace on Mount Sinai. Notice that the Shavuot picture was repeated, except it got more personal where little mountains of living stones (people) had tongues of fire personally appear on each one of them instead of on a separate mountain. Understand that the multiplicity of the tongues of fire of Acts 2 are going to combine and roar into His Fire Bride in our day.
Stay tuned, because tomorrow we will go into how Enoch is a forerunner to His Fire Bride that will be married in out day. Behold, the Spirit and the Bride say, “Come!!!” to the Word of God (Revelation 19:13).
