Q: Does one need a menorah to properly celebrate Hanukkah? What are the things that are necessary?
A: The only thing that is necessary is your heart dedicated to Him, so the Yeshua can come and walk in your temple.
John 10:22-23 reveals that during the winter feast of the Feast of Dedication (Hanukkah), Yeshua walked in Jerusalem’s Temple. You are a temple of God (1 Cor. 6:19) and “Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch” (John 10:23). Solomon’s porch is a place where believers meet and miracles are performed. Refer to https://santatizing.wordpress.com/2016/12/31/all-believers-meeting-together/ Therefore, Hanukkah is all about Yeshua walking inside of you, searching one’s inmost parts.
Always remember that Messiah Yeshua’s appointed time and place in the winter is the Feast of the Dedication of one’s heart to enable one’s light to shine brighter. It portrays believers becoming the fullness of the Bride of the Messiah, which is the perfectly pure light of God. It’s the transfigured seventh day sons (Matt. 17:1-8). Why I say that Hanukkah is Messiah Yeshua’s appointed time and place is He is the one shown doing it in John 10. I also say this because when I asked what to do when my family came out of Babylon and laid down Christmas, Yeshua told me: “Do what I did. If Hanukkah was good enough for Me, it’s good enough for you.”
Once your heart position is established and opened to all of Messiah Yeshua’s goodness, you may want to add a few simple things to your family’s daily celebration of Hanukkah. It’s your choice. My family likes to do devotions as well as kindling the Hanukkah lights along with having a nice family meal, whenever possible. We have a Hanukkiah (9 branch menorah); however, you do not need a Hanukkiah. If you desire to light candles for Hanukkah, you can simply use 9 tealights or whatever you have on hand. A Hanukkiah has 9 branches that represent the 8 days of rededication of the Temple Altar (your heart), plus the set-apart candle that is called the Servant Candle (Shamash) which represents Yeshua lighting all the other lights.
