“True teaching came from his mouth. NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH came from his lips. He walked with me in peace. He did what was right. He turned many people away from their sins. The lips of a priest should guard knowledge. After all, he is the messenger of the Lord who rules over all. And people seek instruction from his mouth” (Malachi 2:6-7 NIRV).
Yesterday, we learned that nothing concerns the priesthood of Melchizedek. Most, if not all, the Biblical principles and patterns for the Levitical priesthood transfer to the Melchizedek priesthood. For instance, before Yeshua (Jesus) gave His life on the Cross, the Biblical pattern for entering the Holy of Holies required that the High Priest chosen to make atonement that year on Yom Kippur had to prepare for an entire year. He was set apart and worked very hard to be found pure and holy according to Biblical standards. It took a tremendous amount of personal time and effort to grow in his holiness relationship with the Divine. The High Priest didn’t name-n-claim, blab-n-grab anything; because he knew that a short-cut would probably cost him his life.
The same is true today. Short-cuts can cost a person their very life, short-cuts like siphoning. To siphon is to convey, to draw off, or empty through an ungodly connection by pressure. Many times, siphoning is hidden or barely perceived by its prey. Siphoning off another person is a witchcraft technique that it way too common in the Body of Christ, and it’s rooted in the dark place where all evil is rooted in the place of death. Siphoning and all witchcraft tactics are rooted in the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
In Christianese, siphoning is the short-cut called “borrowing each other’s anointing.” It can also be called “jacking in,” or “tapping in.” I have personally experienced being encouraged if I saw something that I wanted in a sermon or teaching, to reach out, tap in, and take it. I’ve always had a check about this. We all know that God uses other people to help us grow. However, when we hunger for something godly by seeing it demonstrated, we are to seek God personally and dive into the depth of those riches of the gospel with Him, not another person. Know that if you tap into another person to get what they’ve got; then they have the legal right to return the favor without your permission, by tapping in and siphoning off you. I know of four friends that lost their spiritual sight this way.
Currently, siphoning is so rampant that many of us need supernatural assistance to recognize that it’s being done and the various ways that it has been passed down generationally. I know I needed the Lord to pull back the veil on unhealthy siphoning-type relationships where others were draining me of energy, anointing, provision, etc. After someone recognizes any siphoning tether, we must confess our agreement with it (known or unknown) and repent before we can cut it off in Yeshua’s Name.
God’s set-apart people are to live by nothing but the truth. The king whose name means God is judge – Jehoshaphat – demanded “you tell me NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH in the name of the Lord” (1 Kings 22:16) of the only prophet whose stance was “whatever the Lord says to me, that I will speak” (1 Kings 22:14).
The TRUTH is what sets us free (John 8:32). Messiah Yeshua is the way, the TRUTH, and the life (John 14:6). Our Heavenly Father gives the Spirit of TRUTH that the world cannot receive to those who love Yeshua and keeps His commandments (John 14:15-17). Don’t forget one of the most important certainties in our day is we have to receive the love of the truth, so that we are not deceived by the man of lawlessness, the son of perdition: “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because THEY DID NOT RECEIVE THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH, that they might be saved” (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10).
“Now I pray to God that you do no evil, not that we should appear approved, but that you should do what is honorable, though we may seem disqualified. For we can DO NOTHING AGAINST THE TRUTH, BUT FOR THE TRUTH. For we are glad when we are weak and you are strong. And this also we pray, that you may be made complete” (2 Corinthians 13:7-9).
