The spirit of hope is a strong force, even militant in nature. Hope is living and active. It rests on the grace of God: “Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your HOPE fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy; ” (1 Peter 1:13-16 NKJV).
Hope is a purifying agent: “Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this HOPE in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure” (1 John 3:2-3 NKJV).
Hope is a longing and expectation for good that God has put in mankind: “ ‘For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope’ ” (Jeremiah 29:11 AMP).
Hope contributes to health and well-being. “Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest [dwell securely] in HOPE” (Psalms 16:8-9 NKJV).
Hope is an eternal commodity: “Three things will last forever—faith, HOPE, and love—and the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13 NLT).
So mighty men and women of valor: “Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who HOPE in the Lord” (Psalms 31:24 NKJV).
“O Israel, HOPE in the Lord; For with the Lord there is mercy, And with Him is abundant redemption” (Psalms 130:7 NKJV).
