“And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH” (Revelation 17:5).
Stop for a minute to consider this provocative statement. When the Bible says that Babylon the Great is the mother of harlots, it means that she is the origin of all immortal women (and men) who prostitute themselves. Now, tack on her additional moniker, that Babylon the Great is also the mother or source of the abominations of the earth to understand from Almighty God’s point-of-view Mystery Babylon is detestable. Anything that is an abomination is abhorrent or repugnant. It is an object of extreme hatred. It creates loathing, which is intense disgust.
Additionally, we are told “she had a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her adultery on earth” (Revelation 17:4). Did you catch the subtle phrase “her adultery”? Not only does Babylon the Great cause the kings of the earth to commit adultery (Rev. 17:2), but she is guilty of committing adultery herself. Against whom is the great harlot committing adultery? Against God Most High, the maker of heaven and earth. How interesting. In God’s eyes, Babylon the Great is guilty of breaking the seventh commandment: “You shall not commit adultery” (Exodus 20:14). Someone who commits adultery has to be married. Hum. Perhaps, this is a clue when Jessie Czebotar reveals that the Babylonian System is based out of the Vatican.
This is how God views the woman sitting on the scarlet wild beast. Notice how the scarlet beast is inscribed with many words of blasphemy (Rev. 17:3). I find it very interesting that the scarlet wild beast carries the great harlot, even though he hates her and will eventually overthrow her along with ten kings (Rev. 17:3,7,16).
So, even though this great harlot lives in luxury being arrayed in purple and scarlet while being adorned with gold, pearls, and precious stones (Rev. 17:5), her days are numbered. In this Kingdom Day, we are actually in the midst of the great harlot, called Babylon, being judged by God through the Beast System taking over (Rev. 17:17). Pay attention and you might just hear the angel with a mighty voice proclaiming: “Babylon the Great is fallen” (Revelation 18:2).
Don’t be discouraged saints. The Beast and the ten kings only receive authority as kings for one hour (Rev. 17:12). Then, the Bible reveals something glorious! Yes, the Beast with the strength and authority of the 10 kings will make war with the Lamb; but “the Lamb will conquer them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called and chosen and faithful” (Revelation 17:14).
