Recall, emblazoned on Babylon the Great’s forehead is “The Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth” (Rev. 17:5). She holds a gold cup in her hands full of abominations and the filthiness of her adultery on earth (Rev. 17:4). This Great Harlot is drunk with the blood of the saints and the martyrs of Messiah Yeshua (Rev. 17:6).
The scarlet wild Beast carries the Great Harlot of Babylon, even though he hates her (Rev. 17:3,7,16). We are told that the scarlet Beast is inscribed with many blasphemes, and he has seven heads and ten horns (Rev. 17:3), which brings us to the point of this article. The seven heads of the Beast are the seven hills on which Mystery Babylon, the Great Harlot, sits (Rev. 17:3,9).
Prior to being informed that the Great Harlot Babylon sits on seven hills, we are told that she sits on many waters, which is the Sea of Humanity (Rev. 17:1,15). So, it makes sense to investigate what cities in the world sit on seven hills. Classically, it is said that Rome is THE city that sits on seven hills, which is not incorrect; but this only gives us a limited outlook.
What if I told you that many capitols of the world fit this billing. There are 77 cities worldwide built on seven hills, including: Jerusalem, Israel; Rome, Italy; Mecca, Saudi Arabia; Washington D.C., USA; Moscow, Russia; Tehran; Iran; Istanbul, Turkey; Amman, Jordan; Athens, Greece; Brussels, Belgium; Kiev, Ukraine, Edinburgh, Scotland; etc. Notice the presence of prominent players in today’s conflicts.
The kings (leaders) of these cities and their countries are the kings of the earth who have committed adultery with the Great Harlot Babylon (Rev. 17:2; Rev. 18:3,9). Notice that the three major monotheistic religions are included: Judaism (Jerusalem), Christianity (Rome and Edinburgh), and Islam (Mecca). Notice that the interplay of the clash between Moscow and Washington D.C. and Kiev is included. Notice that the conflict between Iran and Israel is included, represented by their capitols of Tehran and Jerusalem.
What’s the likelihood that these nation’s capitols all reside on seven hills, and they are players in the stirrings of World War III in our day? Then, add the fact that it’s time for Babylon to fall, and you can glimpse God’s redemptive hand in it all.
There are problems when men want to protect their worldly kingdoms without God’s guidance. Notice that the great men of the earth are trying to position themselves to survive and thrive while Babylon is being violently overthrown. Currently, mankind is seeing other nations as their enemies. We forget that we don’t wrestle with flesh and blood but spiritual wickedness in high places (Eph. 6:12). Mystery Babylon is simply one of the rulers of darkness that is being dethroned in this Kingdom Day. She’s a biggie, but only one.
It’s not a coincidence that all these countries represented by their nation’s capitols are involved in God rectifying the abominations of Babylon. God has a glorious plan, and it involves setting people free to worship Him, and only Him, in spirit and in truth. To be set free, God is shaking everything that can be shaken (Heb. 12:26).
We must remember that God is not reviving dead (and dying) institutions and systems. God’s people – of one human race – must let the white-washed tombs of the man-made institutions of religions and governments go to embrace the new. God is not bringing revival to systems that have nothing to do with the Gospel of the Kingdom. God is bringing the restoration of His Kingdom, not yours or any kingdom of man or beast.
It is inside His kingdom restoration that you and I are revived. It is inside Him. Not the other way around. Therefore, don’t forget to focus on the King of kings and the Lord of lords and His Kingdom, because they cannot be shaken.
If you are feeling toss and turned (thrown around), stop, look to Him, and listen. This is where all comfort and peace are found on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give em heaven!!!
