Early Christians imaged the Kingdom of God as the heavenly city – the New Jerusalem – which we are told is the Bride of the Lamb in Revelation 21. It also reveals that the New Jerusalem is a giant golden cube.

“And I saw A NEW HEAVEN AND ANEW EARTH: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw THE HOLY CITY, NEW JERUSALEM, COMING DOWN FROM GOD OUR OF HEAVEN, PREPARED AS A BRIDE adorned for her husband. … Come hither, I will show you the Bride, the Lamb’s wife. And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God. … And THE CITY LIES FOURSQUARE, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs, THE LENGTH AND THE BREADTH AND THE HEIGHT OF IT ARE EQUAL. And he measured the wall thereof, 144 CUBITS, ACCORDING TO THE MEASURE OF MAN, that is, of the angel. And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and THE CITY PURE GOLD, like unto clear glass” (Revelation 21:1-2,9-10, 16-18).

This giant gold New Jerusalem cube represents the reality of a Kingdom fit for the King of kings of kings where He will dwell with His Queen. Never forget that God’s most valuable possession – His Bride – is in the midst of God’s Kingdom with Him. They are literally one. Therefore, when we ask: Where’s the 144000 First Fruits in all this? We know that the 144000 are in the light in the Lamb in the midst of the heavenly city, because they are one with Him. “And the city has no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it, for the glory of God brightens it and the Lamb is the lamp of it” (Revelation 21:23).
